Featured Question

Q. My daughter has gone to several Rave parties. She says they just dance but I've been reading a lot about Ecstasy. How can I tell if she's high when she comes in? She never smells of alcohol.

A. Here are some physical signs to watch for: complaints of blurred vision; rapid eye movement; chills or sweating; dehydration; confusion; faintness; severe anxiety and/or paranoia; trance-like state; transfixion on sights and sounds; clenching of the jaw and/or grinding of teeth.

Also, watch for the presence of paraphernalia associated with Ecstasy or the rave/club culture. These items include pacifiers, lollipops, candy necklaces, glow sticks and/or glowing jewelry, a child-like backpack, mentholated vapor rub and surgical-type masks. For more, go to our Information section and read about Ecstasy and Club Drugs.
