Featured Question

Q. A group of high-school and college kids I know are drinking a lot. Their parents know they drink but don't think they drink very much. What is too much?

A. Any amount is too much if they are under 21 which is the legal drinking age. In fact, 11.4% of all alcohol sold in the U.S. is consumed by underage drinkers! We have to do a better job of enforcing the laws we have. Start at home with your own kids by reminding them regularly of your family rules that include obeying the law and maintaining their safety by not drinking. Influence your community at any level you feel comfortable. You can start with your children's friends' parents. Or at a grade-level meeting at your school. Parents feel more confident if their peers are promoting the same expectations.
