You don't need to congratulate your kids every time they do what's expected of them, but do try to let them know you notice and appreciate it when they try to do the right thing. For instance, if you see your child stop to help someone who dropped their books and papers at the bus stop - let them know you noticed that random act of kindness and appreciate it as evidence of their good character. |
