A former business owner and now realtor with Coldwell Banker, Bill also serves as NFIA’s Chief Operating Officer. He and his wife, LaVerne, have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Sue Rusche
President & CEO
Sue serves as NFIA’s President & Chief Executive Officer, as well as Executive Editor and writer of The Marijuana Report e-newsletter. She and her husband, Harry, have two grown children and three grandchildren.
Richard Brown
Secretary
Richard is a lawyer, retired, who founded the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association. He and his wife, Katherine, have five grown children and three grandchildren.
Bob Margolis, PhD
Treasurer
Bob treated adolescents with substance abuse disorders during his entire career. He and his wife, Karen, have two grown children. Bob passed away in 2020 after a long illness. We are grateful for all he contributed to protecting young people from addictive drugs.
Jeannine Addams
Treasurer
Jeannine is president & CEO of J. Addams & Partners, a public relations firm. Originally from Pittsburgh, she has two brothers, one sister, and a slew of smart, talented nieces and nephews. She is an avid gardener who also knows how to dance the polka.
Jack Arbiser, MD, PhD
Director
Jack holds a chair in dermatology at Emory University’s School of Medicine. He and his wife, Zoya, have three children.

Bill is a lawyer retired from Alston & Bird. He and his wife, Carolyn, have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
Kent “Oz” Nelson
Senior Advisor to the Board
Oz is the retired Chairman & CEO of United Parcel Service. He and his wife, Ann Star, have three grown children, six grandchildren, one great grandchild and one more on the way.
Shannon Murphy, MD
Director
Shannon is a pediatrician. She helps NFIA staff create content for our social media platforms. She and her husband, Steve Bakir, MD, have three children.

Nicole is editor of The Marijuana Report website. She writes the summaries for all stories posted on the website and assists in the production of the e-newsletter.
Margaret Willingham

Margaret handles the receipt and distribution of the organization’s funds. She and her husband, John, have two children.

Lee does all the programming for NFIA’s websites and handles the organization’s technological needs. He and his wife, Melissa, have two children.
